Shopaholics, Unite!
For some people, shopping is a chore. They identify what they need, make a list, and then try to go out and buy it as quickly and inexpensively as possible. But for other people, often referred to as shopaholics, shopping is a way of life.
Shopping gives them an endorphin rush that other people might find only by running a long distance or completing a major project. What is it that they find so enjoyable, and why?

Comparison Shopping
People who are detail-oriented enjoy spending extensive periods of time in comparison shopping. They want to know which products are available, how they compare to each other, and whether they come with additional bonus features or warranties. These individuals will happily spend hours (or, for a major purchase, even days) shopping around and comparing the offerings at different stores.

Splurges and Impulse Buys
Some shoppers are the extreme opposite of comparison shoppers. When they see something they like, they simply must have it. These are impulsive shoppers who splurge because they believe they deserve it. They often see their purchases as a pick-me-up that makes them feel good about themselves. As long as you have the money, impulsive shopping can be a lot of fun.

New Products
Another motivation for shopping can be just to try out new products, especially if that means being the first person  in your social circle to do so. Companies have extensive information, especially on their websites, about the new products and services that they’re launching. Many shoppers flock to these sites to learn all they can and then make  an exciting purchase of something that no one else has.

Shopping Venues
With the growing popularity of the internet, there are more shopping opportunities than ever before. Traditional manufacturers have their own websites where they showcase many of their best-selling items. Others use their websites as outlet malls, selling slightly irregular or damaged goods at a huge discount.
Then, of course, there are the traditional retailers who have an online store to complement their bricks-and-mortar presence. If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the crowds, especially around the holiday season, these stores’ websites are a great option for hassle-free online purchasing.
And the latest trend in online shopping is seen in the plethora of specialty shopping websites that do not have physical stores, but instead specialize in helping customers find the items they want to buy at the best price possible. They do much of the comparison shopping for you, helping you find what you want and need for a competitive price.
